Ingredients

  • 225 g butter
  • 225 g suar, brown
  • 4 medium egg (s)
  • 285 g flour (wheat flour)
  • 2 teaspoons gingerbread spice
  • 225 g raisins
  • 225 g fruits, mixed dried fruits as desired
  • 110 g nuts, mixed as desired
  • 110 g walnuts
  • 12 tablespoons beer, Guinness or black beer (e.g. Köstritzer) or dark bock beer

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 170 ° C. Line a box cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. Add the sugar to the butter at room temperature and beat the butter until frothy. Add the eggs to the mixture one by one and keep beating well in between. Add the sifted flour and seasoning and mix well. Now add the raisins, dried fruits, mixed nuts and walnuts with 4 tablespoons of Guinness, mix well and pour everything into the baking pan. Bake the cake for 1 hour. Reduce the heat to 150 ° C and bake for another 1.5 hours. Let the cake cool completely in the pan. Read the cake in the mold, pierce it several times with a thin knitting needle and pour about 8 tablespoons of Guinness into the holes. Cover the cake with cling film and let it soften for another week.
