  • 120 g baby spinach
  • 150 g cheese (Lor peynir), Turkish, alternatively ricotta
  • 1 pinch (s) nutmeg
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash the potatoes, peel them, cut them into pieces and cook them in salted water for about 20-30 minutes until they are soft, drain and rinse with cold water. Return to the saucepan and roughly mash with a potato masher.
  2. In the meantime, pour boiling water over the spinach and blanch for 2 - 3 minutes, drain and drain well. If necessary pat dry with kitchen paper, then roughly chop with a sharp knife.
  3. Put the mashed potatoes, chopped spinach and lor peynir in a bowl. Season to taste with nutmeg, salt and pepper and stir everything well.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan. Using 2 tablespoons, form dumplings out of the potato mixture and fry in the pan. Alternatively, you can put the patties on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake them in a preheated oven at 200 ° C for about 15 minutes until they get color.
  5. In some regions of Turkey, the patties are breaded with flour, egg and breadcrumbs and then fried.
