Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon tea, black, loose
  • 500 ml milk
  • Rock sugar, coarse, as desired

Instructions

  1. Brew the tea with hot milk and let it steep for 5 minutes. Pour through a tea strainer. The tea should be the same color as if it was poured with water. Pour rock candy into cups and pour over the tea-milk mixture. Do not stir.

  3. The tea recipe is from my British great-grandmother-in-law. Milk was much more watery back then. In New German: Let the tea steep for a short time, about 1-2 minutes in non-fat, watery milk.
