Instructions

  1. Knead the minced meat with the egg, some breadcrumbs and the spices. Roll out the minced dough on aluminum foil into a flat, rectangular piece.
  2. Now put the filling on. Leave a little blank at the end, then the roll closes better. First top with the ham. Then put the wild garlic on top (the more, the better!). Finally put the cheese on it. A milder variety is recommended here. My last attempt was with Bergkäse, which was too dominant.
  3. Now roll up the minced dough and the filling using the aluminum foil. Knead the sides of the roll well. Overall, make sure that the candy is well sealed, otherwise too much cheese will leak out.
  4. Place in the soaked Römertopf and place it in the oven that has not been preheated. Cook for approx. 70 minutes at around 200 ° C. At the end remove the lid (approx. 10 min.).
  5. In the meantime, cook the vegetables. Remove the roast and use the gravy in a saucepan with a little vegetable boiling water to make a sauce. Serve the vegetables as a side dish.
