Ingredients

  • 200 g butter
  • 100 g whole wheat flour
  • 300 g nuts
  • 150 g date (s)
  • 125 ml milk
  • 4 medium egg (s)
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 1 pinch (s) cinnamon
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 0.5 ½ cup date syrup or maple syrup
  • 0.5 ½ cup tea (Chaitee)

Instructions

  1. With Thermomix: Put the nuts and dates in the mixing bowl and chop 5 sec / speed 7. Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the syrup and tea, and knead for 1.5 min / left turn / speed 5.
  2. Without Thermomix: Beat the butter until soft, then stir in the flour, ground nuts and the remaining ingredients, except for the dates, syrup and tea. Cut the dates very small and fold in.
  3. Put the dough in a greased cake tin and bake for 50 minutes at 180 degrees. Cover with aluminum foil if necessary.
  4. After baking, mix half a cup of syrup with hot chai tea and spoon the liquid over the cake. Let cool down.
