Ingredients

  • 250 g quark
  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 pinch (s) salt

For the filling:

  • 150 g hazelnuts
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 100 g suar
  • 1 tablespoon rum

For the glaze:

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Grease for the tin

Instructions

  1. Put the flour on the work surface and season with salt. Finely chop the butter and crumble it. Add the quark and quickly knead everything into a dough. Beat together a few times and let rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  2. Grease the baking sheet and switch on the oven. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the filling over half. Fold the dough together and use the dough wheel to cut approx. 1.5 cm wide strips. Twist these in a spiral and place on the baking sheet, brush with the egg and bake at 180 ° C until golden brown.
  3. Brush the still warm sticks with lemon glaze and let them dry.
  4. Variation: For the very quick variant, simply use the puff pastry you have bought. Then, however, omit the lemon glaze and do not grease the baking sheet, but line it with baking paper.
