Ingredients

  • 300 grams flour
  • 200 g butter, soft
  • 100 g powdered suar
  • 2 egg (s), including the yolk
  • 1 packet baking powder

For the filling:

  • 150 g hazelnuts, round
  • 150 g powdered suar
  • 1 orange (s), which the grated peel (use the untreated!)
  • 9 tablespoon orange juice

For the cast:

  • 120 g powdered suar
  • 2 tablespoon water, hot
  • 2 tablespoon orange juice

Instructions

  1. Knead the dough ingredients (flour, butter, sugar, egg yolk, baking powder), shape into a ball, chill for approx. 1 hour.
  2. Mix the ingredients for the filling into a spreadable mass.
  3. Halve the dough, roll out each piece into a rectangle (approx. 21 X 31 cm) between foil. Put these dough sheets back in the foil and cool (10 min.)
  4. Place a sheet of dough on the baking tray lined with baking paper, spread the nut mixture on it (with a knife or a baking pallet). Place the second sheet of dough on top, press down.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven at 200 degrees on the second rack from the bottom for about 20 minutes. Remove.
  6. Topping: Mix powdered sugar, hot water and orange juice, immediately brush the dough with it (it sinks in, just put everything on top).
  7. Carefully cut into 3 x 3 cm squares while still warm with a large knife (the plate is brittle!) If you dip the knife in hot water after each cut, you are fine.
  8. If you feel like it, you can decorate the cooled pieces with icing sugar glaze patterns, but you don`t have to.
  9. Keep the cookies in an airtight box, otherwise they will dry out. Makes approx. 60 pieces
