Orange Turkish Delight with Coconut Flakes

This delicious and healthy dessert is easy to prepare. Turkish delight orange with coconut flakes turns out to be very delicate and aromatic. The fresh taste of orange is successfully complemented by coconut notes – delicious and original!

Ingredients

  • Oranges (or tangerines) – 1 kg
  • or orange juice (or tangerine) – 400 ml
  • Sugar – 60 g (or to taste)
  • Coconut flakes – 70 g
  • Corn starch – 45 g
  • Butter – 15 g + for greasing the baking sheet
  • Salt – 1 pinch

Directions

  1. Squeeze juice from oranges. You will need 400 ml.
  2. Combine sugar with starch. Add a pinch of salt.
  3. We mix.
  4. Gradually add juice to sugar with starch and mix with a whisk.
  5. The mixture should be free of lumps.
  6. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, 3-5 minutes, until thickened. Boil the thickened mixture for about 30 seconds and remove from heat.
  7. Add butter to the hot mixture and stir.
  8. Grease the baking sheet well with butter, put the orange mixture there, and distribute it in an even layer with a thickness of 0.7 mm to 1 cm. Spread it with a spatula. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 30-60 minutes.
  9. When the mixture hardens (the hardened mixture easily leaves the mold), cut off a strip about 5 cm wide with a knife, then sprinkle the strip with coconut. You can sprinkle the entire layer with coconut at once, but then it will be more difficult to cut.
  10. Gently prying with a spatula, we turn the strip into a roll.
  11. This is how we form all the rolls. Sprinkle the surface of the rolls with coconut. If you won’t be serving ready-made orange rolls right away, be sure to keep them in the refrigerator.
