Piglet-Shaped Boiled Eggs

Piglet-Shaped Boiled Eggs Instructions

  1. Prepare food for making egg snacks.
    Piglet-Shaped Boiled Eggs step 1
  2. Wash the beets, boil until tender (40-50 minutes). Cool and clean.
  3. Boil eggs hard-boiled (10 minutes), cool and peel.
  4. Cut the beets into cubes and put them in a bowl.
  5. Pour boiling water over the beets. Dip the peeled eggs into a bowl and leave for 20-30 minutes, periodically checking the color. The longer the eggs are kept in water with the beets, the more intense the color will be.
  6. Remove the colored eggs from the water and dry.
  7. Use a knife to cut off part of the egg on one side for stability.
  8. Cut out “patches” and “ears” from the cut parts.
    Piglet-Shaped Boiled Eggs step 8
  9. Make “eyes” for piglets from black peppercorns. To prevent the pepper from falling out, carefully make small holes with a knife and stick the peas into them. Attach the patches with mayonnaise (very small amount).
  10. Attach the triangular ears, also with mayonnaise. Make “tails” of piglets from the branches of bay leaves.
  11. Here is such a simple but amusing snack (or decoration) “Piglets” for the New Year’s table.

Bon Appetit
