Ingredients

  • 1 kg lard (flame lard = smooth lard without additives)
  • 300 g onion (s)
  • 500 g prunes (prunes, preferably the soft plums)
  • 300 g apples (Cox Orane or Boskop)

Instructions

  1. Melt the finished lard in a large saucepan (only on low to medium heat and really always stick with it). Dice the onions and sauté them in the cooked fat for approx. 20 minutes until they are soft.
  2. Meanwhile, peel and core the apples and cut into small pieces. Likewise the prunes. Pour into the rendered onion fat and cook for another 10 minutes. Fill attractive shapes and let them cool down.
  3. VARIATION:
  4. Plum-apple-GREAT lard: Dice 500 g Flomen and leave in a large saucepan with 500 g fresh bacon (also sometimes called green bacon). Then add the ingredients as described above and continue preparing in the same way.
