Potato Casserole with Minced Meat and Mushrooms

Mashed potato casserole with minced meat and mushrooms is a tasty and satisfying dish for a family lunch or dinner. This casserole can also be served on a festive table.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 800 g
  • Minced meat – 400 g
  • Champignon mushrooms – 250 g
  • Hard cheese – 100 g
  • Cream – 100 ml
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Chicken egg – 1 pc.
  • Butter – 40 g
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp

Directions

  1. Prepare all the products for the potato casserole with minced meat and mushrooms. It is better to take minced pork and beef, mushrooms – champignons or oyster mushrooms. Cream can be replaced with milk in the same proportion. We start cooking the casserole by peeling the potatoes, cutting them into 4 pieces each. Boil in boiling salted water until cooked, 25-30 minutes.
  2. Cut the champignons into small cubes, after removing the foil from the caps.
  3. Dice the onion. Grate the carrots on a medium grater.
  4. Pour 1 tablespoon into the pan. vegetable oil, heat it up and fry mushrooms, carrots and onions in a pan until soft, 10-12 minutes. Salt to taste.
  5. In another frying pan, heat up another spoonful of vegetable oil, put the minced meat in the pan and fry it until it turns gray and all the liquid that the meat lets out has evaporated. This will take 10-15 minutes. Salt the minced meat to taste, add black ground pepper. IMPORTANT: To prevent the minced meat from forming lumps during cooking, break the lumps with a fork during the frying process, then the minced meat will be homogeneous.
  6. We shift the fried minced meat to vegetables and mushrooms and mix the filling for the potato casserole.
  7. Drain the water from the finished potatoes. Add the egg, cream, grated hard cheese, salt and pepper to the potatoes.
  8. Knead the potatoes well with a potato grinder into a homogeneous puree.
  9. Grease the bottom and sides of the baking dish with vegetable oil. Put half of the mashed potatoes into a mold. We level it.
  10. Put the stuffing of minced meat and mushrooms on mashed potatoes. We also level it.
  11. Cover the filling with the remaining mashed potatoes. Using a fork, make small stripes on the surface of the puree (for beauty). We send the potato casserole to an oven preheated to 190 degrees for 30 minutes. We take out the finished casserole from the oven, let it cool in the form for 10 minutes.
  12. Serve the potato casserole with minced meat and mushrooms to the table.
