Wash and core the pumpkin and cut into small pieces with the skin.
Bring to the boil with a little water and simmer for about 15 minutes, until the pumpkin is nice and soft. Drain the water and puree the pumpkin flesh and let it cool.
Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Crumble in the yeast and mix with the sugar, the lukewarm milk and a little flour to make a pre-dough. Let rise in a warm place (e.g. oven at 50 °) for about 30 minutes.
Add the mashed pumpkin, softened butter, egg and salt and knead everything into a smooth dough. A little lukewarm milk may have to be added here. Let the dough rise for another 30 minutes.
Knead the dough well and put it in a loaf pan, put it in the cold oven and bake at 200 ° for about 45 minutes.
