  • 2 kg flour
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 250 g butter, liquid
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 1 liter pumpkin pulp, puree

Instructions

  1. Put the flour and sugar in a large bowl and make a well in the center of the flour. This is where the crumbled yeast, 2 teaspoons of sugar and 4 tablespoons of lukewarm milk go. Gently stir together the yeast, sugar and lukewarm milk. Let everything rest for about 20 minutes in a warm place. For this I take a large bowl with a lid and put it in a hot water bath. If the lid rises, the batter is good.
  2. Then add liquid butter, a pinch of salt and the pumpkin. I boiled the pumpkin in a pressure cooker with a little water until soft and then pureed it. Knead everything well, add some milk if necessary. Then let everything rise again in the hot water bath in the closed bowl. Again, of course, until the lid opens.
  3. The dough is enough for 2 large loaves of bread, which are baked at approx. 175 degrees for approx. 45 minutes. I baked 5 loaves of bread each with approx. 800 g dough (hot air 175 degrees, approx. 30 minutes).
  4. Tip: Freeze prepared pumpkin, then you can not only bake pumpkin mares / bread for Halloween.
