Rice with Vegetables in Turkish

So I was taught to cook rice when I lived in Turkey. Turkish rice with vegetables is crumbly and tender! It is possible without vegetables.

Cook: 1 hour
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Rice – 250 g
  • Hot water – 500 ml
  • Butter – 20 g
  • Salt to taste
  • Mixed vegetables (any) frozen – 400 g

Directions

  1. Heat a saucepan (or deep frying pan) and melt the butter in it.
  2. Pour rice and fry, stirring continuously, for about 1 minute.
  3. Add hot water, salt, stir and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Do not cover with a lid!
  4. When the rice is almost ready, pour in the vegetable mixture, stir and cook until all the liquid has evaporated.
