Ingredients

  • 1 kg beans, green
  • 1 bunch soup greens
  • 4 potato (s)
  • 1 bunch savory, fresh
  • 6 sausages (Mettenden)
  • 200 g bacon (pork belly or beef jerky)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable stock
  • 2 juniper berries
  • 2 black peppercorns
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 liters water
  • possibly cream
  • possibly Maggi

Instructions

  1. Clean the beans, cut them into small pieces and wash them. Peel the soup greens and potatoes, cut into small pieces and wash. Pluck the savory from the stalks. Cut the pork belly or in Saarland: “dried meat” into pieces.
  2. Put the vegetables in a saucepan. Then add the meatballs and the pork belly. Fill up with 2 liters of water and add the spices. Bring everything to the boil and then simmer gently for about 30 minutes.
