Ingredients

  • 1 kg sauerkraut
  • 150 g bacon, possibly with rind
  • 1 potato (s)
  • Caraway seed
  • salt and pepper
  • sugar

Instructions

  1. Cut the bacon into strips and fry it. Add the sauerkraut, water and spices. Then cook until it is soft but still firm to the bite. Remove the strips of bacon and season again with salt and sugar.
  2. Finally, peel and grate a large potato. Put this in the still boiling sauerkraut so that the water is bound.
