- g 1,250 sour cherries
- 1 liter water
- 350 grams sugar
- 2 packs vanilla sugar
- 1 small Bottle / s bitter almond flavor
- 700 ml rum (54%) or 1 liter vodka (40%)

- Boil the washed sour cherries (they don`t need to be pitted!) Together with the water for about 30 minutes. Then let it cool and steep. Then strain the mixture through a cloth and squeeze it out well.
- Bring the cherry juice with the sugar and vanilla sugar to a boil. Once the mixture has cooled, stir in the rum or vodka. The liqueur can be flavored to taste with the bitter almond oil.
- The liqueur is then ready to drink and can be filled into prepared bottles.
- Tip: You can experiment with the type of alcohol and the amount of sugar. With 500 g of sugar the liqueur becomes quite sweet, with 350 g of sugar and vodka it becomes a bit more sour and palatable. You could then always sweeten.
