Ingredients

  • 125 g mararine
  • 100 g suar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 1 shot rum
  • 200 ml rice milk (rice drink) or soy or oat milk
  • 250 g flour
  • 0.33 pack baking powder
  • Oil for greasing the waffle iron
  • jam, powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, compote

Instructions

  1. Weigh and measure all ingredients. Break open the eggs, place in a small bowl or cup and get everything ready.
  2. First briefly stir the room-temperature margarine in the food processor, then add half of the sugar-vanilla sugar mixture and 1 egg. Mix well and then add the remaining sugar and the second egg. Mix everything into a smooth, lump-free batter. Add the rum and gradually stir in the flour, baking powder and rice milk. The dough should be smooth and not too firm, but not too runny either. The rice milk may not be needed in full.
  3. Heat the waffle iron and brush the surfaces with a little oil. Bake the waffles one after the other. Grease in between. With my waffle iron, the amount of batter made 6 waffles.
  4. Jam, powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar or compote are enough, depending on your mood, or simply pure e.g., Eat as a side dish to potato soup.
  5. When eating with children, just leave out the rum. The whole thing can of course also be prepared with normal cow`s milk if there are no intolerances.
