Ingredients

  • 188 g toast, alternatively leftover biscuits or bread leftovers
  • 125 ml milk
  • 50 g butter, melt
  • 70 g suar, brown
  • 125 g dried fruits or 250 raisins or cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon, leveled nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon, leveled cinnamon powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ ginger powder or freshly grated
  • 2 egg (s)

Instructions

  1. The bread, I used about 3/4 toast, dice and soak in milk for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Stir in the sugar, melted butter, dried fruits, eggs and spices, then pour the mixture into a small baking dish measuring 24 x 15 cm. Bake in the oven at 180 ° C hot air, top / bottom heat 200 ° C for approx. 60 - 75 minutes.
  3. The bread wasn`t soaked for 4 hours, but still tasted great. You can do it however you want. Traditionally, it was a recipe to use up old leftovers from cookies, bread, etc.
