Ingredients

  • 500 g pork belly, sliced
  • 500 g apples, sour, peeled, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped thyme, dried
  • 4 large onions, cut into thin rings
  • some clarified butter
  • some butter
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Put the meat slices in a pan with a little clarified butter on both sides, brown and set aside. Add a little butter to the frying fat and steam the apple slices in it for a few minutes. Now put these in a baking dish. Spread the meat on top and sprinkle with salt, a little pepper and the thyme.
  2. Now sauté the onion slices with a little butter in the same pan for a few minutes and add a little salt. Then spread over the meat.
  3. Cook in the oven preheated to 250ºC on the middle rack for about 30 minutes. If the onions get too dark, cover with some aluminum foil.
  4. As a side dish, I like jacket potatoes or whole grain bread.
