Apples Baked under Meringue

Cooking apples, baked in slices under a meringue hat, with walnuts, raisins, and cinnamon! It seems to be nothing complicated and intricate, but the dessert turns out to be very tasty, soft and tender, simple and exquisite at the same time. Both children and adults will be delighted!

Ingredients

  • Apples – 2 pcs.
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Powdered sugar – 100 g
  • Walnuts (kernels) – 50 g
  • Butter – 30 g
  • Raisins – 30 g
  • Lemon juice – 1/2 tbsp
  • Ground cinnamon – 0.5 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Prepare all the ingredients you need.
  2. Peel the apples, core them and cut into medium-sized wedges. Take apples of your favorite variety. For my taste, sweet and sour apples with dense pulp are perfect in this case.
  3. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees.
    Place the apple slices in a baking dish.
  4. Drizzle the apple slices with lemon juice and sprinkle with raisins, walnuts and ground cinnamon.
  5. Then spread small pieces of butter on the apples in a chaotic manner.
  6. Place the apple dish in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  7. While the apples are baking, cook the meringue. Separate the whites from the yolks. Pour the egg whites into a bowl and beat with a mixer on high speed until fluffy. Then add the powdered sugar and beat the whites, now until firm peaks.
  8. Take out the form. Spoon the whipped egg whites over the apples.
  9. Continue baking the apples under the meringue at 150 degrees for about 15-20 minutes.
  10. Apples baked under meringue are ready!
