This dish is dedicated to lovers of Camembert cheese, which is slices of yesterday’s bread with cheese, baked in the oven. You can call it a version of the dish “Pan Perdu” (French Pain perdu – lost or forgotten bread). Delicious, tender, and very cheesy – just the way the French love it!
Cook: 30 mins
Servings: 4
Ingredients
Camembert cheese – 250 g
Baguette – 1 pc.
Cream – 200 ml
Ground black pepper – 0.5 teaspoon.
Butter – 5 g
Directions
Grease the baking dish with butter. Cut the baguette into thin circles and place part of the baguette on the bottom of the mold.
Cut the cheese into slices of the same thickness as the baguette slices. Spread the cheese slices over the baguette slices and sprinkle generously with freshly ground black pepper.
Put another layer of baguette and another layer of cheese. Pour cream over the cheese.
And again generously sprinkle the cheese with black pepper. We send the form to an oven preheated to 190 degrees for 20 minutes.
The camembert baguette casserole is ready. We serve it hot. We love this cheese casserole with sweet tea. Delicate milk baguette, stretching cheese, golden-brown crust … Just a delight!
