Ingredients

  • 600 g rump steak (s)
  • 300 ml coconut milk
  • 150 g shallot (s)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 4 tablespoon oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoon sambal oelek
  • 1 ½ teaspoon cornstarch
  • Nutmeg, freshly grated
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Remove the fat from the meat and chop it up. Heat the oil in a pan, fry the meat in portions, season with salt and nutmeg and then remove it from the pan.
  2. Peel the shallots and garlic. Dice shallots, press garlic. Sweat both in gravy. Stir the cornstarch in 125 ml of water until smooth and add to the pan with the shallot and garlic mixture with the coconut milk. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Put the meat in the sauce, season with salt, sambal olek and nutmeg and serve.
  4. Serve with rice and fried onions.
