Ingredients

  • 500 g flour your choice (rye, spelled, whole rain)
  • 450 ml water, lukewarm
  • 1 cube yeast, fresh
  • 1 tablespoon honey or pekmez or sugar beet syrup
  • 2 tablespoon vinegar (fruit vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 150 g rains (sesame, pumpkin, sunflower, pine nuts, etc.)
  • Fat for the shape

Instructions

  1. First put the lukewarm water in a mixing bowl and crumble the yeast into it. Add the honey (or syrup - you can also buy pekmez from the Turkish supermarket), vinegar and salt and mix everything together until the yeast has dissolved. Now mix in the desired flour and grains.
  2. Pour the dough into a greased loaf pan and place in the non-preheated oven. Now set the oven to 200 ° C and bake the bread for 70 minutes. When the 70 minutes are over, turn off the oven and remove the bread from the pan. Put this in the closed oven again for ten minutes.
  3. The bread also tastes super delicious if instead of the grains you add oat flakes, a grated potato or carrot, dried onions or tomatoes, pumpkin, raisins or (our favorite variant) 2 - 3 hands full of fruit muesli, or, or, or ! The bread can be varied depending on your appetite, which is why we call it wish bread. Here, however, the quantities given are not 150 g, but increase by feeling.
  4. Then brush the still warm edges with butter
