Here’s a versatile vegetarian recipe for stewed green beans that can serve as a side dish or become a standalone vegetable dish. It is very simple to prepare – try it, you will like it.
We wash the green beans under running water, cut off the ends, cut into several parts, then boil in a little water for 10 minutes. And again we rinse under running water.
Cut the onion into half rings.
And simmer it in a thick-walled skillet or saucepan in a little olive oil until soft.
Peel the tomatoes (dipping them in boiling water for half a minute) and chop them with a blender or cut them into small cubes.
Add the tomatoes to the onion, also throw in finely chopped garlic and simmer everything for 7-10 minutes.
Then put the beans in the tomato mass. Salt, pepper, season to taste, mix everything well and simmer over medium heat for 15-20 minutes.
