  • 1 cube yeast
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds or other seeds or cereal

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the cube of yeast and honey in the lukewarm water. Now add the remaining ingredients and knead well for about 5 minutes using a mixer with a dough hook.
  2. Put the tough, sticky dough in a greased loaf pan and smooth the surface with wet hands and cut lengthways with a knife. Place the bread in the still cold oven and set the temperature to 175 ° C (convection). After 50 to 60 minutes, depending on the desired brownness, take the bread out of the oven, turn it over and knock against the bottom of the bread. If the bread sounds hollow, it is done.
  3. I mostly use whole spelled flour or a mixture of 200 g rye and 300 g whole wheat flour. I also replace the sunflower seeds as the mood takes them, for example with walnuts or muesli made from oat flakes, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and linen seeds.
  4. When decorating the crust, there are no limits to the ideas, for example with sesame seeds or oat flakes.
