Ingredients

  • 1.2 kg chicken drumstick (s)
  • 1 kg sweet potato (s)
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder, smoked
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder, noble sweet
  • 1 ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cayenne pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram, dried
  • 1 ½ teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1 ½ teaspoon coriander seeds, dried
  • 1 teaspoon peppercorns, black
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, brown
  • 8 stalk / s thyme
  • 30 g butter, cold, in flakes
  • 2 lime (s), including the juice

Cajun Drumsticks with Sweet Potatoes

Instructions

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut into pieces approx. 1 cm wide. Mix in a bowl with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Finely crush the dried spices with 1.5 teaspoons of salt in a mortar. Mix with the chicken legs in a bowl.
  3. Spread the sweet potatoes on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack at 200 degrees (convection not recommended) for 40 minutes. After 10 minutes, place the chicken legs with the thyme stalks on the sweet potatoes. Spread the flakes of butter on the thighs and cook everything to the end. If you don`t have chicken legs, but rather normal chicken legs (divided once in the joint), everything is cooked together for a total of 40 minutes.
  4. Finally, the drumsticks are drizzled with lime juice and served.
