Ingredients

  • 550 g chicken breasts
  • 2 apples, sweet, about, depending on the size
  • 3 medium onion (s)
  • 350 ml apple wine (apple mirabelle wine or sweet cider)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 tablespoon vinegar (apple balsam, alternatively old balsamic vinegar)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon rapeseed oil

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples and cut into small pieces. Take away half of the pieces. Peel and finely chop the onions.
  2. Sear the chicken breasts in hot rapeseed oil for 2 minutes on each side. Then take the breasts out of the pan and continue cooking in the oven at 180 ° C (top / bottom heat) for about 10-14 minutes.
  3. Put the onions and half of the apple pieces in the same pan and fry for 2 - 4 minutes. Always turn. Then add the wine, apple balsam or balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, salt and, if necessary, pepper to the apple onion mixture. Keep cooking the resulting sauce over medium heat.
  4. After about 6 minutes, add the other half of the apple pieces and cook for another 5 - 6 minutes. Pour the sauce over the chicken breasts and serve. The dish tastes best with rice.
