Chicken Fillet Sandwich (Saltimbocca)

When there is absolutely no time to prepare gourmet meals, a hot sandwich can be a great alternative. For your attention – a sandwich with fried chicken fillet, tomatoes, and cheese.

Ingredients

  • Flour – 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper (coarsely ground)
  • Chicken fillet (halves 150 g each) – 4 pcs.
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp
  • Mayonnaise – ¼ glass
  • Basil (chopped) – 2 tbsp
  • Italian or any other bread – 4 slices (15-20 g each)
  • Ham – 4 slices
  • Tomato (cut into thin rings) – 1 pc.
  • Mozzarella or other cheese (finely chopped) – 60 g

Directions

  1. Combine flour and pepper on a piece of paper. Apply the mixture to the chicken meat.
  2. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Put fillets in a frying pan and fry on both sides for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Check fillet readiness with a knife – the meat should be soft enough
  3. Preheat the oven. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, basil, and 1/8 teaspoon. pepper.
  4. Spread the mayonnaise mixture on slices of bread. Place the slices on a baking sheet and place in the oven for 1-2 minutes. The sauce should darken slightly.
  5. Remove the baking sheet from the oven, put one fillet on each piece of bread, put the tomatoes on top. Sprinkle the cheese on the chicken sandwiches and bake the hot chicken sandwiches in the oven for another 2-3 minutes (until the cheese is melted).
