Chicken “Katsu”

Chicken “Katsu” is a Japanese dish, which is a delicious chicken fillet fried in egg and bread crumbs. Everyone can cook it – especially with a simple step-by-step recipe.

Servings: 5-6

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet – 1 Kilogram
  • Salt, pepper – – To taste
  • Flour – 1/2 Cup
  • Eggs – 3 Pieces
  • Soy Sauce – 1 Teaspoon
  • Breadcrumbs “Panko” – 300 Gram
  • Vegetable oil – 100 Milliliters

Directions

  1. Cut the chicken fillet into large pieces (one medium chicken breast – 8 pieces).
  2. Sprinkle the chicken pieces with salt and pepper, if desired, some other spices.
  3. Dip each piece of chicken in flour.
  4. Beat eggs with one spoonful of soy sauce.
  5. Dip each bite of chicken in beaten eggs.
  6. Finally, you need to thoroughly roll the chicken pieces in Panko breadcrumbs. These are special bread crumbs sold in supermarkets. You cannot cook this Japanese dish without them.
  7. You can replace it with ordinary bread crumbs – it will also be tasty, but the dish will already be different.
  8. In a frying pan, bring vegetable oil to a boil, throw chicken pieces into it. Fry until light brown batter.
  9. We take out the finished chicken pieces from the butter, put them on a paper towel to drain the excess fat. After that, the Katsu chicken can be served with rice and vegetables.
