Ingredients

  • 4 chicken leg (s)
  • 3 medium onion (s)
  • 500 ml cola
  • 250 ml chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 shot rum
  • salt and pepper
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Peel the onion and cut into rings or cubes as desired. Salt and pepper the chicken legs.
  2. Heat the oil in a saucepan and fry the onion over medium heat. When the onion begins to turn translucent, add the legs, fry on all sides and deglaze with the rum. Increase the heat until the rum has boiled off and then add the stock, ketchup and cola.
  3. Stew over medium heat for about 30 minutes. Stirring occasionally. Set the last 3 - 4 minutes (possibly longer) higher again to let the sauce boil down nicely.
  4. A green salad and baguette to add to the sauce tastes good with it.
