Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 150 grams flour
  • 100 g desiccated coconut
  • 100 g butter
  • 100 g suar
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 1 lime (s), the grated zest it

For the glaze:

  • 150 g powdered suar
  • 1 lime (s), the grated zest and 5 tablespoons its juice
  • 100 g desiccated coconut
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

  1. For the dough, knead all the ingredients quickly to form a smooth dough, wrap in foil and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  2. Lightly dust the work surface with flour, roll out the dough about 3 mm thick and cut out trees. Place these on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven at 200 ° C for approx. 15 minutes (look a little in the oven as the edges quickly become dark)
  4. Mix the powdered sugar with the lime zest and the lime juice and brush the cooled cookies with it. Scatter the desiccated coconut on top.
  5. Tip: Alternatively, instead of lime peel and lime juice, you can also use lemon peel and lemon juice - however, the cookies taste better with lime.
