Croutons with Potatoes and Herbs, in a Pan

A very quick, tasty, and hearty breakfast or a snack made from simple products – brown toasted croutons with potatoes and herbs, cooked in a pan.

Ingredients

  • Rye (or wheat) bread – 2 slices
  • Potatoes – 1 pc.
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Fresh cilantro – 1 sprig
  • Fresh dill – 1 sprig
  • Fresh parsley – 1 sprig
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil – for frying

Directions

  1. Peel potatoes, grate on a coarse grater.
  2. Beat the egg to the potatoes.
  3. Finely chop the greens. Peel the garlic and pass through a press. Add herbs and garlic to potatoes.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Place the potato mixture on the bread slices.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place the croutons with the potatoes down. Fry over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Then turn over and fry on the reverse side so that the croutons are crispy. If desired, the croutons can be turned over to the potato side again and fried a little more.
