Curd-Poppy Roll

This curd roll with poppy seeds and nuts is especially loved by my husband. That is why he takes him with him to work “on the brake”. It is not at all difficult for me to prepare this pastry, since the cooking process is elementary and rather quick.

Ingredients

For the test:

  • Flour – 300 g
  • Cottage cheese – 200 g
  • Butter – 75 g
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon zest to taste
  • Sugar – 50 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Egg yolk – 1 pc.
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Nuts (any) – 50 g

For filling:

  • Poppy – 150 g
  • Milk – 150 ml
  • Sugar – 65 g

For decoration:

  • Powdered sugar – 1 tbsp

Directions

  1. Let’s prepare the necessary ingredients for a curd roll with poppy seeds and nuts
  2. Sift flour into a bowl.
  3. Add sugar to it.
  4. Then add salt.
  5. Then lay out the baking powder.
  6. Then lemon zest.
  7. Grate the butter and place it on top of the previous ingredients.
  8. Put cottage cheese on top.
  9. Drive in the egg and yolk.
  10. Knead the dough with our hands.
  11. Combine poppy seeds and sugar in a bowl.
  12. Then pour the pre-warmed milk. We beat the filling with a hand blender and set it aside.
  13. Roll out the dough on the table.
  14. Put the crushed flaws on top.
  15. Roll up the edges of the dough. Roll it into a layer again.
  16. Put the prepared poppy filling on the layer.
  17. Let’s roll up the layer with a roll. Let’s transfer it neatly to the post with parchment paper. Let’s send the roll to the oven preheated to 190 degrees for 25-35 minutes.
  18. Cool the finished curd roll with poppy seeds and nuts.
  19. Then, for a beautiful presentation, we transfer the roll to the dish, sprinkle the roll with powdered sugar.
  20. Cut the curd roll with poppy seeds and nuts into pieces and serve!
