Ingredients

  • 4 onion (s), peeled and cut into wedges
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 liter ¼ wine (Bordeaux)
  • 100 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 1 clove (s)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve sugar in melted butter. Add the onion wedges and let them caramelize. Deglaze with the vinegar.
  2. Add enough wine to cover the onion wedges. Add the clove and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Simmer until the wine is almost completely reduced. The onions are then cooked well.
  4. Possibly re-acidify a little with the vinegar.
