Ingredients

  • 1 kg onion (s), red, cut into rings
  • 3 tablespoon jam, orange
  • 1 chilli pepper (s), red (optional) cut into fine strips
  • 1 tablespoon oil, neutral
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Sauté the onions, cut into rings, until they are lightly colored, about 30 minutes. Caution: stir regularly so that they do not stick.
  2. Then add the jam (possibly also the chilli strips)
  3. and let it steep for another 5 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  4. Keeps hot in a screw-top jar in the refrigerator for a few weeks.
