  • 1 kg flour, the best
  • 2 cubes yeast
  • 4 egg (s)
  • 160 g suar
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or a little less
  • 400 ml cream
  • 4 tablespoon oil
  • egg yolk
  • milk
  • Sugar (hail sugar)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a pre-dough with yeast, a little sugar and cream and let it rise until it bubbles up nicely. Mix the flour, sugar, and salt, first add the pre-dough and mix in. Then add eggs, cream and oil and work into a smooth dough. Finally knead by hand for a few minutes. Leave covered until it has doubled in volume.
  2. Shape 3 strands and shape them into a large braid, place this diagonally on the tray and let rise for another 15 minutes.
  3. Brush with egg yolk or milk if you like and sprinkle the seams with granulated sugar so that it tears open properly when baking. Bake at 180-200 ° C for about 45-60 minutes.
