Dutch Meat Rolls (Slavinken)

I would call them meat knots. But whatever you call it, they turn out to be tasty, satisfying, aromatic and juicy. Here is a recipe for how to make Dutch meat rolls (Slavinken). Help yourself!

Servings: 3

Ingredients

  • Minced pork – 350 Grams
  • Basil – 2 Tbsp. spoons (fresh)
  • Thyme – 1 Art. spoon (dried)
  • Egg – 1 Piece
  • White bread – 50 grams
  • Salt – To taste
  • Ground pepper – To taste
  • Bacon – 9 Slices
  • Butter – 1 Teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil – 1

Directions

  1. Prepare the food you need. Combine minced meat with egg, bread, salt, spices and herbs.
  2. Stir the minced meat thoroughly, form 6 patties. Place three strips as in the photo: two stripes crosswise, the third one next to the first vertical one. Place the cutlet in the center.
  3. Wrap the top with the 1st and the lower with the 3rd. Now it is the turn of the horizontal strip, the lower part of the 3rd part and the upper part of the 1st part. Repeat with the rest of the blanks.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan, fry meat rolls on all sides for 15 minutes.
  5. Serve 2-3 pieces each with green peas and potatoes.
