Ingredients

  • 1 kg apples, tart
  • 300 g onion (s), red
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 bell peppers, red, black
  • 0.25 liter ¼ vinegar (red wine vinegar)
  • 350 g suar, brown
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper - grains
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ mustard seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon thyme, stripped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger root, grated
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples, remove the core and cut into small cubes. Finely chop the onions and peppers.
  2. Sauté the onions in oil and caramelize a third of the sugar in them, then deglaze with vinegar and add the prepared apple cubes, add the remaining ingredients and let simmer over low heat for about ½ hour until the mixture has a thick consistency, then the chutney is still hot Fill into cleaned jars and close them immediately.
