  • 1 kg flour
  • 125 g butter
  • 5 egg (s)
  • 100 g suar
  • 2 cubes yeast
  • 500 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 2 packs vanilla sugar
  • 2 cl rum
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 4 cups clarified butter

Instructions

  1. Make a yeast dough from the specified ingredients and let rise for about 1 hour until it has doubled. Use 2 bowls for this, otherwise the dough will overflow.
  2. Heat the clarified butter in a large saucepan. Make a wooden spoon test. Blisters must form on the handle of a wooden spoon held in the fat for the fat to be hot enough. Now cut off small amounts from the dough with a tablespoon and place in the hot fat.
  3. Funny shapes emerge. Turn the fire sparrows once in the fat. When these are golden yellow on both sides, place them on a kitchen towel so that the fat can drain off. Turn it in a bowl with sugar while it is still warm.
