Ingredients

  • 1 kg prawns (headless, possibly already peeled)
  • 2 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 3 tablespoon sambal oelek
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, coarse
  • 50 ml olive oil

Instructions

  1. Rinse the prawns (frozen) briefly and place in a bowl that can be closed tightly.
  2. Put the garlic with the salt, the oil and the sambal in a narrow container and then grind the ingredients very finely with the hand blender.
  3. This mass then comes over the prawns. The prawns are thawing out little by little .. so you should stir the things in between times. Marinate for a few hours.
  4. Attention: Thawing creates a watery brew, which SHOULD be like that too !!
  5. Let plenty of olive oil get hot in a pan. Take out a good portion of prawns with the slotted spoon, drain and then add to the hot fat.
  6. The prawns are good as soon as they curl up. NEVER leave it in for longer, otherwise they will be tough.
  7. Tip: Go with a Mediterranean mixed salad and my flatbread maybe a few olives as well.
