Instructions

  1. Spread the rolled out puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C.
  2. Fry the onion cubes in hot olive oil, add the paprika cubes and fry briefly. Add the frozen vegetables and continue to fry over a medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are heated.
  3. Meanwhile, whisk the egg with the cream cheese in a bowl. Add the mixed herbs and cheese cubes. Stir and season with salt and pepper. Add the vegetables to the sauce and mix everything well.
  4. Line the center of the puff pastry sheet with the ham and pour the sauce-vegetable mixture on top. Fold the two long sides of the dough over each other and seal the ends.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes on the middle rack until the strudel is golden brown.
  6. Tastes on its own or with a salad as a main course. Can also be eaten as a side dish e.g. with pork steaks.
  7. Tips: The spicier the mountain cheese, the more piquant the strudel will be. Fresh paprika cheese adds flavor to the filling, but any other cream cheese can also be used. Frozen vegetables can also be replaced with any other vegetable scraps that the refrigerator can provide.
