Melt the butter in a small saucepan and briefly fry the oatmeal in it.
Then add the water and season with salt and vegetable stock, bring to the boil and add the milk. Simply use more water for soup and adjust the amount of seasoning.
Let it cook until the desired consistency is achieved. I prefer not to let it cook too long so the oatmeal doesn`t get completely mushy. I like it better when the oatmeal is `al dente`.
My mom used to cook this for me whenever I was sick. Today I eat it like that too. Simply because it tastes good.
