Ingredients

  • 2 kg tomato (s), ripe
  • 250 g onion (s)
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 100 g suar
  • 4 tablespoon wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, ground
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ ginger powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ allspice powder

Instructions

  1. Wash the tomatoes, remove the stem and cut the tomatoes into pieces. Peel and finely chop the onions. Put all ingredients with the onion and tomato pieces in a high saucepan with a thick bottom and simmer for about 45 minutes.
  2. Strain the mixture through a sieve. Put the tomato paste back into the saucepan and let it boil openly until it is thick. Season to taste with the spices and fill into hot rinsed bottles with wide necks. Close hot immediately.
