Ingredients

  • 250 g honey
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 80 g butter
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ nutmeg, grated
  • 500g flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 2 egg (s)
  • salt
  • Margarine, for greasing
  • 150 g almond (s)

Instructions

  1. Heat honey, sugar, butter and water in a saucepan. Let cool down. Mix the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, flour and baking powder in a bowl. Stir in the honey mixture with the eggs and a strong pinch of salt.
  2. Grease the loaf pan. Pour in the dough. Scald the almonds with hot water, peel off. Insert into the surface of the dough. Place the mold in the preheated oven and bake at approx. 180 ° C for about 45 minutes.
  3. Take the cake out of the oven and let it cool down in the tin. Cut into 20 pieces on the following day at the earliest.
