Squeeze the limes and pour the juice into the punch bowl. Then cut the fruit you want in the punch into small pieces and add it. I like best fruits like oranges, fresh pineapple, honeydew melon and / or kiwi with the punch. But seedless grapes or apples also went very well. Pour the passion fruit syrup on top and pour ice-cold ginger ale on top. Be careful: it starts to foam a lot.
I always avoid cane sugar because I like the sour taste. If you like the punch sweeter, add sugar to taste. I would do without crushed ice, as is usual with Ipanema cocktails, because of the fruit.
