Ingredients

  • 400 g dark chocolate
  • 125 ml whiskey, Irish
  • 200 g butter
  • 350 g suar, possibly less
  • 3 egg (s)
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 375 ml coffee, strong, cooled, no espresso!
  • 2 packs vanilla sugar (bourbon vanilla sugar)
  • 250 g flour
  • Fat for the shape
  • possibly powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. First melt the chocolate (the amount is * not * a typo!). The best way to do this is over a water bath, but a saucepan with gentle heat will do the same.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt together. Mix the coffee with the Irish whiskey separately. Beat the butter, sugar and the bourbon vanilla sugar until frothy and then stir in the eggs one by one. Now add the melted chocolate and stir well.
  3. Then stir in the flour mixture and the coffee-whiskey mixture alternately (one third each time). Process everything into a smooth dough and don`t be surprised, the dough is quite runny.
  4. The cake can be baked in a box or bundt pan, which should be well greased. When I bake the cake, I use a silicone baking pan. Baking time at 165 ° C, 50 - 60 minutes.
  5. After baking, let it cool down for about 15-20 minutes. Fall out of the mold and dust with powdered sugar if necessary.
