Ingredients
- 250 ml beer, Guiness (Irish)
- 250 g butter
- 125 g dark chocolate, broken into pieces
- 400 g suar
- 115 g sour cream
- 2 egg (s), size M
- 275 g flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 115 g butter, (for the laze)
- 125 g dark chocolate
- 75 ml beer, Guiness (Irish)
- 115 g double cream cheese
- 40 g cocoa powder, dark
- 5 drops vanilla flavor
- 500 g powdered suar, sifted

- Heat the Guinnesss, butter, chocolate and sugar in a coated saucepan or in a double boiler over low heat until the chocolate has melted. Let cool (but not so much that the chocolate hardens).
- Preheat the oven to 180 C.
- Mix the eggs and sour cream into the chocolate mixture. Mix the flour and baking soda and fold into the dough. Mix well so that no lumps form.
- Grease 2 round cake tins and dust with flour. Pour half of the batter into each of the cake tins. Bake in the preheated oven for approx. 35 - 50 minutes (depending on the size of the cake pan, please do a chopstick test, I bake with convection with 26 springform pans and the cake takes approx. 40 min.)
- Let the cake cool down.
- For the glaze, melt the butter, chocolate and Guinness in a water bath and allow to cool. Mix the cream cheese, vanilla flavor and cocoa together in a large bowl. Mix in a fifth of the powdered sugar, then the chocolate mixture. Slowly stir in enough powdered sugar until the desired thickness is achieved.
- Brush one of the cakes with a little glaze and place the second cake on top (i.e. stick it).
- Cover the whole cake with chocolate icing and decorate to taste if desired.
- This is the right thing for real chocolate alcoholics! The cake is very juicy and substantial, but hhhmmmmm .. pure sin is allowed every now and then, right?
