Ingredients

  • 300 g minced meat
  • 0.5 ½ spring onion (s)
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 20 g panko
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ soy sauce
  • possibly ginger
  • some salt and pepper

For the sauce:

  • 4 tablespoon water
  • 2 ½ tablespoon ketchup
  • 1.67 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon sake
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • some sesame oil
  • some flour

Instructions

  1. Cut the spring onion into small rings. Mix well with the mince, egg, panko, sesame oil, sake, sugar, soy sauce and, if desired, the ginger together in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper and form small balls. Heat oil in a pan and fry the meatballs well in it.
  2. Meanwhile, stir water, ketchup, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, sake, mirin and sesame oil into a sauce and briefly bring it to the boil. Mix a little flour with water. Stir into the sauce over low heat until it thickens.
  3. If desired, add some sesame seeds and spring onions to garnish.
  4. Rice and some vegetables go well with it.
