Ingredients

  • 1 kg flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 1 dl sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cardamom
  • 150 g butter, melt
  • 5 dl milk
  • 1 packet yeast
  • butter
  • cinnamon
  • sugar
  • possibly applesauce
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. For the dough, mix the flour, salt, sugar and cardamom together. Melt the butter, add to the lukewarm milk and dissolve the yeast in it. Knead everything and let rest for 1/2 hour.
  2. Roll out part of the dough to about the size of a baking sheet, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. If you like, you can put some applesauce on one end, this makes the Kanelboller even more juicy.
  3. Now roll up the dough (from the side with the applesauce). Cut the roll into pieces about 5 cm wide and place them upright on the tray.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes at 225 ° C. Let cool down a little and pour frosting if you like. Do the same with the rest of the dough. They are also delicious warm.
